Nowy Kosciol This is the classic Polish location - synonymous with Poland for most thunderegg hunters. The eggs are very similar to german stones in some ways - especially to some of the Saxony specimens. They have a very coarse-grained matrix surrounding fine and precisely banded agate in various tones of orange to red. The thundereggs can be very irregular - seams and fissures of gate in rough pieces of rock. So much so that, for me who is so fond of regular thundereggs, finding regular thunderegg-shaped Nowy Kosciol specimens has become something of a quest! The second and fourth stones below fall into this category. |
