Frieda (Thuringia)

Obviously not to be confused with the famous USA Frieda thundereggs, this is a newly discovered location with a distinct kinship to the Felsenschlag stones. However there are some distinct differences, particularly in the matrix which, in this specimen, was extremely soft. Possibly the softest of any thunderegg I have ever worked with and feeling like crumbly chalk. Indeed, I will call this stone the second greatest challange I have ever faced after the equally chalk-like Mooralla specimen.
