Truly Massive and Very Heavy St Egidien Thunderegg

And this monster is even larger. It also features the layered nature of the really large St Egidien stones, this time with a beautiful centre of creamy agate speckled with the classic St Egidien red flecks. The decayed/crystalline area on the left is interesting in that it seems to speak of different times. One of the bands of agate passes right through it while others frame it or seal it off.
I can tell you something - scanning this stone left me absolutely terrified. I must have been nuts to even attempt it since we are talking about a stone as large as a LARGE melon half and weighing more than my scales can register. I was expecting it to go right through the glass in a dismal crack and write off my long-suffering scanner for good. In the end though, it took the weight with just a few creaks and complaints, though it did manage to leave a few scratches! Worth it though - what a stone! If these are St Egidien Eyes then this is the eye of a Leviathan!
25cm!
