Unusual Lucky Strike with a Band of Bluish Opal

This is a striking and unusual stone by any standards - that bar of opal is something I have never seen before in a Lucky Strike stone. It is such an unusual stone that it makes up for the terrible crack through it - a nasty one even for me!

An attempt to regrind the stone with resin. I'm not sure this has actually helped much. Maybe a much more substantial regrind that gets rid of the more open areas of that crack might do it ...
