Little Naches River, Bed 2.5 Thundereggs
The Naches river produces a lot of curiosities. The vivid green conglomerate of Bed 2 and the beautiful ones from South Fork Quartz Creek were curious enough, but now a little area known as Bed 2.5 produces these remarkable stones. These have expanded almost ridiculously, with the matrix reduced to nothing more than a thin encircling shell like a string of pearls. It's a really unusual form and the exterior of the eggs are also pretty striking, looking almost like some kind of plant cone. I hope to track down more of these one day.
