Bruneau Jasper Thundereggs
This is one of the world's great jaspers, with that beautiful deep orange-brown, sometimes with swirls of lighter colours and orb formations - but it is a type of thunderegg, yes. Most of the time, you encounter it as pebbles and pieces but every so often, whole or kind of whole eggs do appear. They are very often incomplete or damaged, as though taken from hard rock, and they can be quite valuable. The matrix, as you can see here, ranges from almost grey to a deep brick-red - and maybe beyond for all I know. It has characteristically large grains and inclusions, in contrast with White Fir Jasper eggs, for example.
