Zwickau Planitz must be one of the most under-rated locations in Saxony. Far simpler and less colourful than it's relatives at St Egidien etc., these have a fantastic quiet green aesthetic to them. The agate is nearly always grey verging on bluish, sometimes with white bands. Many have quartz centres. But it is the inclusions and 'extras' that really make these - crystal growth and moss, rough mineralisation and occasional amethyst all add touches of colour.
