Chemnitz-Altendorf

This is the kind of hugely obscure location that I get excited about. There's not much going on here in terms of agate or fancy cores, but the striking roundness and the sometime deep grey colour make them quite distinct, nevertheless. One curious feature of the ones I have seen (below) is that regardless of the size of the stone, the small cores that open up at the very centre are all more or less the same size.

These neat little stones are exceptionally nice side by side as a pair.

Not to be confused with the equally low-key location Chemnitz-Hilbersdorf!
