Extraordinary Red Richardson (Red Bed)

These pics show different parts of the SAME thunderegg - or rather, different parts of a connected cluster, both of which have been cut. The differences are amazing - though the way moss and mineralisation gathers in different density in nearby locations can be seen elsewhere - such as the triple priday egg. It is possible that one could take that priday egg as an example of what MAY be going on here, had this one been cut differently. This is a really remarkable specimin that bears out the richardson reputation for fine moss! Indeed, I would call that one of the best moss eggs I have ever seen.
