Beautiful Green and Red Frieda Thunderegg - Double and Brecciated.

This is the first time i have actually seen a Frieda in the flesh - and i am beginning to understand why they are among the most sought after. There is a certain magic about that agate - clear and blue - and the whole mix of different materials proves very beautiful. For some mysterious reason, the matrix of this specimen has been smoothed off, giving a rather unnaturally smooth outline to it. The green mineralisation is characteristic of these eggs. With the brick coloured matrix and patches of creamy opal, the result is a strikingly colourful thunderegg - a very special stone.
