Brand Thundereggs

One of the more impressive German locations. The most familiar form is characterised by a very rich brown matrix filled with massive grains. However, there is clearly a lot going on here, including some quite varied geology. The smaller specimens below are extremely different - weathered, pale and quite 'rough'. However, the collector who found them tells me that they are indeed from there, from not far below the surface of the ground.
