Rosenberg Thundereggs

A distinctively dark type of stone presenting the classic granular Saxony matrix in a blend of deep browns and greens. These look a bit like the Wendishain Pitchstone specimens but are not from nearby, though they are from near Leisnig. These are probably not true thundereggs, but more of a 'transitional' stone, somewhere between a thunderegg and a rhyolite vein agate. Definitely close enough for me to include, however! As such, they are often quite fragmented - chunks rather than nodules. They also seem prone to amethyst.
